Norifumi Yamamoto, popularly known as KID, an icon for hardcore MMA fans around the world, just fought his last battle, leaving a hole in the hearts of every life he touched. Today… we’ll remember his legacy, the legacy of a warrior who proved until the very last moment what he was made of.

Lightning speed, and sting like Knock Out precision were trademarks of the Killer Bee. He was a prototype of the MMA fighter of the future, with polished striking, world class wrestling and submission skills that he honed from his then brother in law, Pride legend, Enson Inoue.
This in combination with his raw athletic talent earned him unforgettable victories, like one of the fastest Knock Outs in MMA history.
Kid built an impressive resume during his prime, and is considered by many to be the best bantamweight fighter of his generation.

Yamamoto comes from a family of wrestlers with an extraordinary pedigree, his father represented Japan in the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, and his sisters Miyuu and Seiko are multiple times Freestyle Wrestling World Champions.
Kid himself, attempted to qualify for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing but was sidelined by a dislocated elbow in the seminfinals.

One of his most memorable accomplishments came in 2005, during the K1 MMA Grand Prix, when he stopped Royler Gracie, Caol Uno and Genki Sudo, to become the Hero’s Grand Prix Middleweight Champion despite a huge weight disadvantage.

Kid carved his place in Martial Arts History and his memory will live forever.
